COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does a consultation include?

When you book a consultation with Seeded Method you will have a 60-minute onsite visit by our certified garden consultant. Your outside space will be walked and reviewed to come up with options and materials selections for a kitchen garden design that will best suit your space and family needs. We will review the steps for setting up a successful kitchen garden and answer any questions you will have. We will have a plan of action to present a design, planting list and care, and estimate for the installation (either installed by our team or DIY). We then will have a 30-minute follow-up to finalize the design and plan.

Where do you source your planting materials?

Seeded Method enjoys sourcing local plants from local businesses and small farms. We support small business and work with a variety of local growers to bring our clients the best naturally grown plant material possible.

Do you offer seasonal help in my garden to grow and tend to the plants?

We offer 60-minute coaching sessions that take place in your garden as needed and as well seasonal programs that include clean out, adding compost, and transitioning of plants between seasons. We will also be adding group and community coaching programs.

Do you use organic garden practices?

Seeded Method does not use like to use any synthetic products in our raised kitchen gardens. We prefer organic practices for pest management, tending and harvesting practices.

My yard has a lot of shade where I would like to place my raised beds. What can I grow?

There are several vegetable garden plants that fare well with partial shade. Most of the herbs and greens can thrive in partial shade. To name a few favorites: arugula, lettuces, kale, spinach, carrots, radish and beets.

We have a very small yard or only have a terrace. What can I grow?

People are very happy to learn how much can be grown in small spaces, a single 4' x 4' bed or even in pots on a porch or terrace. There is always a solution to grow something. Growing vines up trellises is always a sure way to grow. Sprouts, herbs and greens can grow in the smallest spaces and even inside.

How much produce can I expect to harvest each month?

If herbs are your passion, you will be able to produce all of the herbs you want year round. Salad greens can be harvested at lease 6 months during the year. And as far as fruiting plants you should be able to produce a nice harvest every week of the year. Edible flowers are so nice to have as well.

Will I have success in my kitchen garden if I have never gardened before?

The Kitchen garden is making a comeback in homes nationally and we want to be a part of making that happen. We want to make sure we teach you the step by step processes to help you learn and want to keep gardening from your successes. Most of our clients are new to gardening and are not too sure where to start or what to do.

What is the timeframe it takes to have my kitchen garden installed from the order date?

Installations take between two-four weeks typically upon receipts of the 50% deposit. The Cedar raised beds are delivered and installed within two weeks and the metal or corten raised beds are delivered and installed between 4-6 weeks. On the installation day we arrive with all of the materials and crew and finish within one to two days.
